Fiona is a water and natural resource management specialist with more than 20 years’ domestic and international work experience in government, research, and private organisations. She specialises in the integration of environmental and water resource management with socio-political outcomes.
Her policy and strategy development experience is founded on core academic and industry experience in the fields of integrated water management and water sensitive cities, water sensitive urban design and urban stormwater management, river basin and catchment management, water quality and river health management, natural systems and water resources management, science translation and research management, stakeholder and community engagement, and capacity development at multiple scales.
Fiona’s diverse knowledge and experience ensures that she brings an innovative approach to identifying and developing strategies to deliver optimum water cycle, infrastructure, socio-political and economic benefits for clients. As Executive and Program Leader for the Research Adoption Portfolio, Fiona led the development of the Evaluation and Learning framework for the $120 million CRC for Water Sensitive Cities, drawing on the latest evaluation theory as well as impact analysis frameworks developed by the Commonwealth Government. She also led design of targeted industry capacity building programs to enable them to better develop business cases for water sensitive city project and programs.
