Richard is an environmental and resource economist, and an environmental engineer with over 12 years’ of postgraduate experience. He combines technical expertise with an ability to lead multidisciplinary projects. His work focuses on the integration of public policy and socio-economic impacts on the environment, water resources and infrastructure, providing strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
He has successfully delivered projects throughout Australia and internationally, working across multiple industries including water management (quality, quantity, allocations, efficiency and infrastructure), agriculture, groundwater, catchment management, biodiversity, natural capital valuation, climate change impacts and adaptation, infrastructure and economic development. This work has included cost benefit analysis, cost effectiveness analysis, non-market valuation, business case preparation, policy review, strategy development and environmental impact assessments. His work focuses on the incorporation of environmental values into decision making and frameworks for investment.
