Steve has more than 20 years’ experience in natural resource management strategy formulation, policy development, business case preparation, program design and project implementation. His recent consulting experience includes working with water utilities in both Australia and the US to deliver more robust business cases to secure increased investment in catchment management activities in water supply catchments. Steve also recently led a significant project for the Queensland Government that combined catchment modelling and economics to cost, for the first time, seven policy options for reducing sediment and nitrogen run-off across the Great Barrier Reef catchments.
Steve has also worked in water resource management and planning, environmental regulation, nature conservation, and has experience with a wide range of industries including mining, gas and major infrastructure providers. He has developed strategies, policies and programs linked to waterway management, climate change, biodiversity, peak oil and sustainability. Steve is highly regarded for his ability to bring project teams together and deliver pragmatic solutions for highly complex issues. He has been a very successful project manager in challenging political environments at all levels of government.
